Shooting Range Rules
**ATTENTION: UPDATED RANGE RULES WILL BE ENFORCED AS OF JANUARY 1, 2017.
New Range Rules are as follows:
1. Must have membership card in possession and be able to produce when asked. No guests.
2. No steel plates or explosive targets. Paper targets only. Must use Beartown backstops. Bullet traps are acceptable.
3. No shooting across ranges (i.e. rifle range to pistol range). No ground shooting.
4. Pistols only on pistol range.
5. Shooting hours 9:00 a.m. until dusk, 7 days per week. Third Sunday of the months September through April: range is closed for block shoots. Exception to shooting hours: club sanctioned events.
6. No alcohol.
7. Clays thrown right to left. Bird shot only.
8. No shooting beyond pavilion posts.
9. No steel core. No tracers. No incendiary. Lead core, range safe ammo only.
10. Limit 10 rounds on all firearms.
11. No automatic weapons. One shot per trigger pull.
Infractions will be dealt with.
Membership cards: must be on your person while on the range. Officers periodically check for membership. Non-members will be asked to leave the premises and purchase membership. No guests allowed. No orange 2024 card (after December 31st) - no shooting.
Range closes every third Sunday, October and December through April, for block shoots.
Firearms: you may shoot what is legal. Follow Pennsylvania gun laws. Only pistols on the right side range. Rifles stay to the left side range. Ricochet from big guns falls into the neighboring property. No automatic weapons.
Common Sense: think safety for you and your fellow shooters. Only shoot paper targets on backstops. No ground shooting. No bottles, cans, junk, etc. Beware of ricochet. Clean up after yourself. Be aware of automatic weapons rising. Lead has been found over the top of the hill in the neighboring property.
*Pistols ONLY on right side of range, please. Ricochet from rifles flies into neighboring property and complaints have been reported.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.
New shooting benches (see left photo below) will make it easier to sit on the bench and shoot.
